The Department of Teaching and Learning
The Department of Teaching and Learning focuses on the professional development of educators of culturally and linguistically diverse students through pre-service and graduate programs. Our program is designed across six specialty areas in Education: Mathematics, Reading, Science, Social Studies, Teacher Education, and Technology.
Reflecting our position as a Research I institution, emphases within the program include providing national and local leadership through both research and teaching. The focus of our leadrship is to support the success of students who have traditionally been underserved in schools, teacher development throughout their careers, close connections to schools, and the use of technology in teaching and learning.
