ADMISSION PROCEDURES CHECKLIST

SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM

For the Department to consider your application, all items need a YES answer.

  1. _____ Are you a matriculated student at the University of Utah?
  2. _____ Will you have completed 40 semester hours of university course work (or accepted transfer credit), including SpEd 3010, Human Exceptionality (or its equivalent), by the beginning of the semester for which you are seeking admission?
  3. _____ Have you taken the PRAXIS I test? Have you taken the Praxis test at least (two) 2 months before departmental deadline for the semester in which you are seeking admissions?

 

Admission Application Deadlines for
Undergraduate Students

Admission to the undergraduate program is on a semi-annual basis.

For Summer / Fall 2008 Admissions: March 3, 2008 (No Exceptions)

Deadline for taking Praxis is January 4, 2008

For Spring 2008 Admissions: November 2 , 2007 (No Exceptions)

Deadline for taking Praxis is September 5, 2007

 

In addition, international, undergraduate applicants must take the TOEFL iBT
(Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-Based Test) and TWE.

In addition, have you included in your application packet each of the following:

  1. ____ Your Department of Special Education application pdf logo for admission form?
  2. ____ Your two-page written professional statement?
  3. ____ Your three (3) letters of recommendation? pdf logo
  4. ____ Official transcripts from all colleges and universities that you have attended? (3.00 GPA is highly recommended)
