Cheryl is an instructor with the multi-university consortium in the area of hearing impairments. She teaches courses in Language Instruction and Effective Practices for students with hearing impairment and supervises student teachers. Before coming to the University of Utah, she had twenty years of experience in teaching and program supervision. She has worked as an itinerant teacher for the hearing impaired in Granite School District, an elementary classroom teacher for Utah School for the Deaf, an early intervention hearing consultant with the Utah School for the Deaf Parent-Infant Program, and most recently, she was the statewide coordinator for the Parent Infant Program. Cheryl is a former president of A.G.B. of Utah. She currently sits on the Utah State Office of Educations Standards Board IEP Committee and The Utah School for the Deaf and Blind Strategic Planning Committee. Cheryl holds an M.Ed. in Special Education with an endorsement in the area of hearing impairments. Cheryl has recently completed an additional Early Intervention II credential and 0-3 deaf education certificate. She takes a special interest in the early intervention of hearing impairments.
