Cathy is a clinical Assistant Professor with the Childhood Special Education Program and also teaches with the Multi-University Consortium for Sensory Impairments. Before coming to the University of Utah, she was the program specialist for the Utah Project for Children with Dual Sensory Impairments. She has been a resource teacher, a teacher of children with severe disabilities, an early interventionist with children with sensory impairments, a deafblind specialist and a family consultant with families of individuals with disabilities. Major interests include communication development in very young children including those who are deaf-blind, assessment of young children who are deaf, blind or who have severe multiple disabilities, and intervention with young children with autism.
