| Leanne is an associate professor in
the Mild/Moderate Special Education Program. She received
her MA from the University of the Pacific in psychology
with an emphasis in behavior analysis. She received
her Ph.D. from the University of Oregon in school
psychology. Leanne has provided behavioral consultation
services for students with disabilities in California,
Oregon, and Utah. She has also consulted with several
state departments of special education to help improve
their positive behavior support efforts. Prior to
coming to the University of Utah, Leanne worked as
a school psychologist in Oregon. Her primary research
interest is positive behavior support, including school-wide
behavior support, targeted interventions for at-risk
students, and functional assessment / behavior support
planning for students engaging in severe problem behavior.
She also conducts research on early literacy and consults
with schools and districts on how to implement Dynamic
Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS)
to improve reading outcomes.
