Dr. Day is the Director of the Multi-University Consortium, Teacher Training Program in Sensory Impairments at the Department of Special Education. She has been affiliated with the Multi University Consortium since 1991 as an adjunct instructor and clinical instructor in the field of visual impairments. She received her M.A. degree from California State University, Los Angeles and a Ph.D. from the University of Utah. Prior to her full time work at the University of Utah, she taught in public education for more than fifteen years as a teacher of the visually impaired, orientation and mobility specialist, early intervention specialist, and administrator. Her current work focuses on educational issues for children with visual impairments, early literacy for beginning Braille readers, and issues associated with teacher preparation for children with sensory impairments.
