In order to provide an optimal working and learning environment for all faculty, staff, and students, the Department of Educational Psychology affirms the importance of cultural and individual diversity in its educational and training programs. This includes a strong commitment to recruiting, retaining, and enhancing the growth of students and faculty to represent various aspects of diversity, including but not limited to age, color, disabilities, ethnicity, gender, language, national origin, race, religion, sexual or affectional orientation, and socioeconomic status. To that end, the department's goals regarding diversity are:

To recruit and retain diverse faculty and students

To enhance diversity awareness and advocacy in the department, on campus, and in the surrounding community

To promote the infusion of multiculturalism into research, education, and training

To provide support to faculty and students via information and resources for opportunities for funding in the area of diversity.
