About UEPCUEPC Staff | UEPC Research Associates The Utah Education Policy Center (UEPC) was formally organized by the Graduate School of Education at the University of Utah in the fall of 1990. UEPC is administered through the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy as a not-for-profit organization. The purpose of the UEPC is to improve the quality of educational policies, practices, and leadership in Utah public schools and higher education and increase educational access and opportunities for all children and adults in Utah, particularly for those who have been historically marginalized. To this end, the UEPC identifies relevant educational issues and engages in timely and rigorous research, evaluations, and analysis to inform and influence educational policy in Utah. The UEPC also responds to specific related requests from local and state leaders, policy makers, education agencies, and community organizations. Research, evaluations, and analysis are presented in the form of policy briefings and reports as well as traditional research articles. The UEPC works with faculty with related interests and expertise from within the university as well as other experts across Utah and around the country. Information generated by the UEPC is shared with multiple local and national audiences, including policy makers, educational leaders, professional educators, and community organizations. In addition, the UEPC provides policy forums to engage scholars, practitioners, policy makers, and the community in meaningful dialogue around relevant educational policy topics.
